A SAMPLE .profile for AIX with path and text String

A SAMPLE .profile for AIX with path and text String

It's not a fact that each and every good Oracle DBA is a good unix admin or programmer but when, specially apps like Data Guard/RAC, that is when more than 1 nodes are to be configured, then it's the best way if all necessary info could be displayed with the unis prompt and not only geeks even senior DBAs asked for this ...
PATH=/usr/bin:/etc:/usr/sbin:/usr/ucb:$HOME/bin:/usr/bin/X11:/sbin:.

export PATH

if [ -s "$MAIL" ]           # This is at Shell startup.  In normal
then echo "$MAILMSG"        # operation, the Shell checks
fi                          # periodically.
HOST=`hostname`
NODE='ODG1_DS3512'
export PS1='${USER}@${HOST}@$NODE ${PWD}$ '

export ORACLE_HOME=/opt/oracle_home/product/11.2.0/dbhome_1
export PATH=$PATH:$ORACLE_HOME/bin

And the result looks like:
oracle@sbidb2@ODG1_DS3512 /home/oracle$
